Walking Andros with Jose
Some places are best understood on foot. On Andros, one of the most meaningful ways to experience the island is by walking its nearly 240 kilometers of historic routes, lovingly preserved by locals and volunteers. These stone paths - among the most beautiful in Europe - wind through fertile valleys, traditional villages, terraced landscapes, freshwater springs, and down to the sea.

You can, of course, walk most routes on your own, but walking them with Jose turns the experience into something entirely different. He knows the island so well that he will immediately know which trails work best according to the season, the wind, and the weather.

The hike can also be followed by a simple meal at a nearby local taverna - unforced, balanced, and deeply connected to the island and its landscapes.
Jose speaks Greek, English, French, and Portuguese. He is a dear friend of ours, and we often walk with him ourselves or invite him to guide our guests.
